Proverb Teleprompter has suddenly stopped working on multiple computers

description

I've been an avid user of Proverb Teleprompter for over six months. Then today it started to play up. Whenever I try to load a new document or save the current document it says "the system can't find the specified drive" It then crashes.
I tried using it on my other computer and it is doing the exact same thing.

Any suggestions? I really like this program!

Can you attach a screen shot of the error? What OS are you using? It is interesting the exact same error is happening on different physical machines. Was the last document you loaded the same all computers? Perhaps the document itself has an embedded file reference?

Try deleting the user settings file. It is in a funky location, and probably different on each machine. This is where mine was located (on a Windows 8 machine):

C:\Users\murk\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\Data\T8TADZEW.OKB\4K9ORHHQ.YNB\prov..tion_8e2edcc04649d1af_0001.0000_855abd80b4950297\Data\1.0.0.0\user.config

I used the SysInternals tool "procmon.exe" and filtered by all process names containing "proverb" and path containing "user.config" to find the file path.

Thanks for that advice Murkjohansen. I'm using Windows 7.
The program is working again but I have no idea why.
I uninstalled the program on one of the machines, reinstalled the latest version (with is probably the same).
I then rebooted and tried to use it and it did the exact same thing ...couldn't find the specified drive. Several hours later I tried it again and it was working perfectly. The program on the other laptop is still playing up though.
It's either a coincidence that the program played up on two machines at the same time or possibly an automatic Windows update may have caused the problem...I'm not sure.
I will keep your advice handy in case it plays up again. Thanks!
